A set of bookmarks featuring seasonal poems from eighth century Japan, paired with apposite images, with Spring and Autumn given a dab of painted floral colour. The poems are from the oldest extant collection of Japanese poems, the Man'yoshu. When I was setting out the winter poem I thought it required more space around the words so I have also made as a separate print, on 280gsm Arches BFK Rives cotton paper, in which the white background can serve as the snow.
