I have been fortunate recently to have the loan of some Victorian decorative initials, which I am gradually pressing into use. The ‘O’, printed when the daffodils – late this year – were starting to show, has words from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Eolian Harp (1795), and I have printed it both as a card and print, both hand coloured. The ‘G’ features the opening words from Max Ehrmann's Desiderata (1927), with the foxglove and hedgehog hand-coloured, and the ‘W’ has lines from Gerard Manley hopkins' Inversnaid (1881)
