I've always liked these words - they are from the introduction to Nathan Bailey’s Dictionary (see also ‘Bailey's Proverbs, 1721’ in the chapbooks section). They differ a little from edition to edition, nouns sometimes capitalised, sometimes not, more or less idiosyncratic usage of commas; I have reproduced it as it appears in the 1763 edition. A four-fold card.
